Alan Wong, Head Trainer
When you see Alan for the first time, you will probably think: “what a scary dude that is! I would not want to face him in a ring…..”, but after the first session, you will realize that he has a big, warm and welcoming heart. Alan will make you feel as if you can do anything and will motivate you to keep trying. You don’t have to do it perfect the first time, as long as you try your hardest. If you are willing to push yourself, Alan will take you places you never imagined you could go! He will help you achieve goals you never thought you would be able to reach! He is an amazing teacher, mentor and a father figure for most FUMTC members. Training sessions with Alan are hard, fun, great learning sessions and you leave with a satisfied feeling! You will feel that your body got a good work-out

When I first met Alan at my first ever muay thai session I remember being unbelievably intimidated by him. Not because of anything he actively did but it was the influence he had over a massive class. He does not miss a thing – a foot facing the wrong way, a hip not turned in, a fist not by your face. The class can be massive and he will not miss a single mistake in technique from any member. Over the years my initial intimidated feeling has grown into one of deep respect and trust. Alan has taken me from being an unfit, self-conscious and scared teenager into a young woman who is strong, independent, fit and confident. The bond that has grown between Alan as my trainer and me as a fighter is the strongest relationship I have formed in my life. The relationship is one of respect, gratitude, loyalty, honour, discipline, commitment and above all love. Alan has taught me there is more to muay thai than just fitness, competition and winning. Muay Thai is family and at FUMTC you will find the original values of martial arts that you will not find in any other club in today’s modern society.

Alan - is really good at pushing us and makes us work really hard. He is the type of person you want to work hard for and give him your all. He is extremely knowledgable and I learn something new every training. Every training is new and different and never gets boring. If you put in the time Alan will have endless knowledge to pass on to you and get the best out of you.
I moved to Australia over a decade ago and joined the club soon after my arrival. I had trained in the art of Muay Thai for 4 years in Europe. I was immediately impressed by the difference in knowldedge, dedication and experience of all the that was clearly visible when compared with what I had experienced in Europe. I was immediately made welcome and have been involved with the club now for well over 10 years. Alan Wong as the head trainer with over 30 years experience in the sport ensures that both the other trainers as well as general club members are challenged on a regular basis to improve their skills, fitness and understanding of the art of Muay Thai. I was lucky enough to have found the club early on after my move to Adelaide and I can only encourage everyone who is interested in a great club and the sport of Muay Thai to come and give it a try

Alan is the heart and soul of the club. If you ever need the answer to anything, ask him and he knows it. Somehow, without having to say a word, he inspires you to always dig beyond what you know you can do. With Alan, it doesn’t matter where you are standard wise, so long as you’re putting 110% into your training, he’ll do the same. Somehow he always knows exactly what to say, even if you may not like hearing it at the time, and if you listen to him you’ll go a long way, and not just in your training. It’s an honour to be able to train under someone who is so giving with his time and abilities, who’ll not only train you in Muay Thai, but will also become a mentor and role model.
Outstanding master of his craft; with over 30 years experience and a wealth of knowledge on everything Muay Thai. He's the real deal in the industry. He achieves results with anyone he works with no matter what their reason for wanting to train whether it be for self esteem/self defence, fitness purposes or if they want to take it further and fight. Since joining the club, with Alan's help and everyone else, I have become more confident, disciplined, and capable of achieving anything I put my mind to doing. I come back to FUMTC because I know I will achieve the best results with Alan's vast expertise and have the best support network.
