Phil - will work you hard and is really good at getting the core combinations and movements to become second nature. Is honest and cares a lot about the people involved in the club.
Phil will push you to train harder. The sessions he takes are always intense and give you the ability to learn techniques as you go because of the way he adds onto the combinations. He’s an incredible pad holder who has you gasping for breath by the end of a round but leaves you with an almost hunger to go again as soon as you can.

The encourager. I won’t lie, the training at FUMTC is tough if you want to fight competitively. Fighting is something I always secretly wanted to do but lacked the confidence. Phil was the first one who put that little bit of belief I needed in my mind to step up and commit to training competitively. He gives you that reassurance you need when you really need it to keep going. I remember I was training for one fight and the session was absolutely insanely difficult and I looked at Phil and he knew that I was considering running away because it was all too hard. He looked at me and simply said “yeah Hannah, it’s hard but this is what makes you tougher than other chicks” with those words I finished off the session hard. It is times like that that I really appreciate Phil. He has kept me going over the years by believing in me. He is a committed member and is completely altruistic in his commitment. He does for the passion of muay thai.
Phil, Is one of the more experienced trainers in the FUMTC family with an expertise in fitness and conditioning for both fighters and general members, Phil has the ability to push our fighters to the limits in fitness and technique in preparation for their fights. Phil is not only one of our senior trainers but is also one of our current fighters, with his most recent fight just last year we are sure to see him on the road to the ring again in the near future.
